March Madness is Here!!! Who will make the Sweet Sixteen?

1996 Big East Co-Champions Georgetowns JYD & UConns Ray Allen

Its that time of year when we bracketologists go to the operating room of analysis to make our picks for this years NCAA tournament.  Let me 1st start by looking at the top (5) freshmen in the country and their teams: Jabari Parker (DUKE), Andrew Wiggins (Kansas), Julius Randle (Kentucky), Tyler Ennis (Syracuse) and Aaron Gordon (Arizona). When it comes to overall NBA talent I would rank Kansas #1, Duke #2, Arizona #3, Kentucky #4 & Syracuse #5.  We have seen in past tournaments that NBA talent can get you to the Sweet Sixteen but they don't exactly guarantee the Final Four.  There are so many good teams vying for this years NCAA crown.  Florida won the SEC, Michigan State won the Big Ten, UCLA won the PAC-12 and Wichita State is the only team not to have tasted defeat this year!!

With all this being said my SWEET SIXTEEN looks like this:

South: Florida, UCLA, Syracuse & Kansas

East: Virginia, Michigan State, Iowa State & UConn

West: Arizona, San Diego State, Creighton & Wisconsin

Midwest: Wichita State, Louisville, Duke & Michigan

So where is Calapari and the Kentucky Wildcats? I have them falling to Wichita State. There is something to be said about a team that knows their roles.  Wichita State has proven they are about winning and this will be their biggest test of the year.  I'm betting they meet the challenge of stopping freshman phenom Julius Randle.  If I'm wrong and Julius has a big game and wins, I will owe my fellow blog followers 100 pushup post in under 1 minute!!! So... I ask the DoggPound, what do you think of my 1st round analysis???
